You embrace the idea of risk, adventure, and leading a life filled with meaning. You can probably even point to moments in your own life where stepping out of your comfort zone changed you for the better.
But did you know there’s real science and psychology behind taking smart risks, and it can explain just how living adventurously makes you smarter, stronger, and… wait for it… more attractive? (Yes, really!)
Last weekend, I had the honor of taking the stage in front of 700 brilliant minds at a TEDx event here in Portland to explain how it’s not just possible to use adventure to improve your life, but practically guaranteed. There were 13 guest speakers, and I opened with the first talk of the day.
It’s been on the web less than 4 days, and it’s been viewed 2,000 times already—the most popular of all the talks from the event. I want to share it with you now. Watch the video below:
Giving this talk was a thrill—I can’t wait to do more of them—but what’s really important is what you gain from it.
In the video, I posed two challenges:
- Think of one thing you can do before the end of the day that will get you one small step closer to living your big adventure.
- Decide it’s important to you, and act on it.
