…that nobody tells you about passion.
“Follow your passion.” For the last five years this sentence has become a cliché (buzzword). More and more people are saying it without really knowing the true meaning of passion. What’s passion? Are you passionate?
For a long time, we have been fooled into thinking passion is doing something easy, something we love that doesn’t require big sacrifice or high discipline. In other words, just a hobby, but is that passion? Let’s take a look at the Latin root of the word passion. Passion is from the Latin verb pati, which means, “to suffer”. It’s why in Christianity, the period of Jesus’ suffering is called Christ’s passion.
Now let’s come back to our second question, are you passionate? Are you willing to accept the total package with all the ups and downs? If you truly want success, then you have to accept pain, suffering and obstacles because they are the core elements of your own success. These are your guides, your invisible mentors.
The price of following your passion is heavy. It requires hard work, dedication and more importantly love. I believe that you are on the right path to get to where you want to be if you are currently facing trials, setbacks of any kind. I don’t know what your dreams are, but I can guarantee you: If you are passionate enough, just enough, your dreams will become reality. So, what’s your passion?
